Files can be dropped using either the SFTP (Port 22) or FTPS (FTP over TLS - Port 21) protocols. Unencrypted FTP is not supported.
Authentication
When using SFTP the most secure form of authentication is to use a SSH-Key, instead of the traditional password. In this method the client/customer generates their own public/private key pair, sending EFM/Flip only the public portion. However this does tend to require more technical knowledge to generate and maintain these keys.
Standard password authentication can also be used for either SFTP and FTPS. SSH-Key’s aren’t supported when using FTPS, so passwords are the only option. When using password authentication a strong randomly generated password will be provided.
IP Restrictions
Please provide the IP address(es) that will be connecting to the SFTP/FTPS server so that we can whitelist those IP addresses against the client/customer’s user.
